Today we started off with spelling. We are using All About Spelling Level 1, and our first week was about mastering phonograms (the sounds each letter can make). This particular card if for the letter I.
After each additional phonogram card is mastered, E gets to color in the corresponding hexagon on his chart.
In math, we learned about balancing equations. He LOVED playing with the balance!
We did our first keyboarding lesson. We are using Keyboarding Without Tears - affordable, and I like their teaching style.
Time for reading! I have encouraged him to read the books to Noam. Eli gets reading practice, and Noam has someone read to him - win/win! It especially helps for the times he doesn't feel like it. He will do anything for his baby brother!
Sorry for the sideways pic, but I can't figure out how to turn it (and I'm lazy ;) ).
This is E's reading journal. I picked these composition books up for $1. The goal is for him to work on reading comprehension. After each story, he records the title, author, and 2-3 sentences about the story. Then he gets to do his favorite part - draw a picture!
